Our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم is the Best and Final Messenger: Due Respect and Obedience to the Prophet is Compulsory
Obedience to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is obligatory for the perfection of faith
The purpose of Imaan (faith) is not only to believe in Allah and obey His commandments. It is obligatory to believe in everything that Allah has commanded to believe in.
For instance, it is obligatory to believe in all the Prophets (Alaihimus Salam) whom Allah Almighty has sent. Acknowledging Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam as the best and final Prophet is compulsory for us, the final Ummah (nation) and obeying all his commands is also an integral part of faith.
Undoubtedly, our Prophet Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, is the last prophet sent to the world and the best of all Prophets. His specialty is so special that Allah revealed the name of our beloved Prophet as Rauf and Rahim, which are indeed the Names of Allah Himself!
Yes, the meaning is different when we call Allah by these Names. It is also an integral part of faith that the attributes of Allah should never be compared with anyone else. Yet just imagine and try to perceive, what honor and dignity has Allah bestowed on His best servant and last Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam, which leaves the entire mankind speechless — calling him by such two Names with high praise! No doubt, such a Praise of a Prophet by Allah Almighty is the best of all praises! We should repeatedly send salutations and blessings on our Beloved Prophet
Whenever the lunar month of Rabiul-Awwal commences, we remember our beloved Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam with deeper love!
Reasons, Signs, Consequences of Not Realizing and Recognizing the Dignity of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ
As an Ummah, we should always bear in mind the outstanding dignity of our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
Being aware of someone’s dignity is helpful in giving that person the respect he deserves. And if someone’s honor is better than all others, then there is no question! Awareness about the honor of such a person is most important! There is no Muslim who does not acknowledge the status of the beloved Prophet,
Yet when we continue to learn and know more and more about the honor and dignity of our Beloved Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam, we will be more amazed and astounded! Consequently, we would become much more modest and cautious in pronouncing the blessed Name of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ! As a result, although we already know about his [صلى الله عليه وسلم] noble life, but will proceed to know even more. In addition, we would be worried about our condition before him ﷺ on the Day of Resurrection.
Our thoughts will give a deep dive — how wrongly we act every day by neglecting to follow our Role Model, the best of creations, Muhammad O Allah, forgive and give us the ability to follow and imitate the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Ameen
The main issue is, we have not gained even the slightest knowledge about the status and honor of our beloved Prophet Most of the Muslims are not properly aware of the unparalleled personality of the Beloved Prophet We are far away from studying the Holy Seerat (the great biography of our beloved Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)! We are in a word too far from his Sunnah, fallen behind in following Him
When we would die, we must die as Muslims. This clearly means that we should die following the footsteps of the teachings of our beloved Prophet When we say ” following the footsteps of our beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم “, it encompasses the entire Shariah — that is, everything that Allah Almighty has commanded and forbidden us to do – everything is inclusive of our beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم’s blessed footsteps!
Our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has rights on us from three aspects – love, respect and obedience. It is obligatory to love, respect and obey him No doubt, it is not be possible to fulfill his صلى الله عليه وسلم rights fully, but it is important to fulfill his صلى الله عليه وسلم rights as much as possible. Every Muslim shall love, honor and respect and obey the beloved Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam as much as possible.
Love alone is not enough, respect is very important to balance love. Without obedience, the Prophet’s path will not be followed. As a result, our good deeds will become incomplete, even unacceptable — which will threaten our Imaan (faith)!
As an Ummah, it is necessary to have the least mercy towards the Prophet’s Ummah (Nation)
How grateful am I to the Prophet as an Ummah? How much do I care about expressing gratitude towards him The course of my life will tell that. Sunnah should be followed and imitated in every field and arena of life, such as in Salaat (prayer), other acts of worship, behavior, manners, home-family, job-business, state-administration, Dawat, Jihaad and in all walks of life. Only then can we hope to keep the true value of the saying “I am an Ummah of the Final Prophet”! But most of our condition speaks out, we’re only born in the Ummah and that has become a matter of sole satisfaction for us today.
No matter where an Ummah resides in the world, regardless of his/her location, s/he is our brother or sister. Unfortunately, this realization seems to be fading away! But the relationship that Allah Almighty himself had tied up, how is it possible to break it off?! Will I not be affectionate to another Ummah of Beloved Prophet Will I not shed tears for by brethren? My hands of supports will not extend for them when they’re in trouble — how is that possible? In fact, today the entire Ummah is in dire straits by moving away from this perception!
Who can deny that today the Ummah of our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, is oppressed and in jeopardy in several ways. However, most of us Ummah are ignorant and careless about this. It is not the intention to blame others, it is important to question and correct one’s own account. I, myself am an insignificant Ummah of the Beloved Prophet Therefore, there should be some participations and initiatives which I should have at the sufferings and pain of other Ummah are having; I should accompany them in distress; cry to Allah Almighty for them — this is very important, the best example of which are undoubtedly the Noble Companions, Sahaba Radi Allahu anhum. This matter is closely related to both our faith and good deeds.
It will be easily understood if we give a present-day example. Who does not know about the persecution of Jews in Palestine?! It’s not about the past one or two years! Indescribable demonic oppression and tyranny have been taking place for ages. But we, the Muslims in other parts of the world have paused by just thinking, “It’s just their affiair!”. Aha! O Brother, then the question arises, what is meant by” Muslims are all brothers and sisters” — have this become meaningless to us?!
**** **** ****
In fact, we are far away from the love, honor, dignity, following his Sunnah and full obedience to the beloved Prophet If we think from a more fundamental point of view, it is our downright violation of Allah Almighty’s commands and laws which has brought about these unfortunate results. Obedience to Allah Almighty and obedience to the Messenger of Allah are obligatory upon each of us. Yes, there is no doubt that worship is only for Allah – no one else! The fundamental obedience is indeed His; And do note, it is He who has commanded that we must obey His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم — there is no other alternative to this.
We conclude this article with a few verses of the Holy Quran. Where the status of our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is clearly depicted and if we ponder over their meanings, any one such verse InshaAllah will be enough for us to recognize the greatest person of all time, the Habib (best friend) of Allah, the best of all Messengers. However, only the translation of the verses will not be sufficient. To understand the real purpose and meaning, one must study a reliable book of Tafseer!
And We have not sent you but as mercy for all the worlds. [Sura Ambiya – 21:107]
and We raised high your name. [Sura Sharh – 94:4]
Allah has surely conferred favor on the believers when He raised in their midst a messenger from among themselves who recites to them His verses and makes them pure and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom, while earlier, they were in open error. [Surah Imran – 3:164]
Those who pledge allegiance with you (by placing their hands in your hand)- they, in fact, pledge allegiance with Allah. Allah’s hand is over their hands. Then, whoever breaks his pledge breaks it to his own detriment, and whoever fulfils the covenant he has made with Allah, He will give him a great reward. [Surah Fath – 48:10]
Muhammad is not a father of any of your men, but he is a messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And Allah has the Knowledge of everything. [Surah Ahzab – 33:40]
O Allah! Shower abundant blessings on our Beloved Prophet, the Seal of all Prophets, Reward him with Maqam-e-Mahmood and provide us his intecession on the Judgement Day (Aameen)!
