Food for Thought

Obey Allah Taala, patiently; His Support is near

It is nothing, but the deception of shaytan and nafs that we want to become a perfect Muslim overnight. After a few steps on the path of Deen (Islam) we search for divine miracles for us. If no miraculous support achieved, or if our wishes and desires remain unfulfilled, we deflect ourselves from the obedience of Allah Taala!

Indeed, very unfortunately, we have defined negatives and positives of our life by ourselves; therefore, we want to say that by losing so and so, we lost so and so. Actually our misconception regarding Islam has shrouded the truth from us. We have thus become very rigid in self-understanding and our cognizance is on the premise of whatever we desire, think and feel comfortable about, not based the teachings of Qur’an and AHadith. If nothing fruitful and beneficial “seen” for me – myself, we just shy away from Islam! This stubborn situation could be appropriately expressed as: (as if we claim) my way or the highway! In fact, this is what the Creator and Lord of the Universe can only proclaim (in every single condition). Being His servant, if we negate His decree upon us similarly, it is completely ridiculous!

Let us do Tawba very sincerely. Let us start moving forward steadily through Islam – the Path of Allah. Let us suppress our desires and surrender to the commandments of Allah Taala. Let us hold back and have some patience when we encounter unfavorable situations. The intellect, Allah Taala bestowed us, is not to judge why Allah Taala did that for me and why He didn’t give me that(?)

Developing Taqwa (piety) would make our life peaceful in the world and in afterlife. Come what may in this world, we have to try utmost to refrain from sins and establish a good connection with Allah Taala! If we keep on moving forward little by little, tests and trials would be coming, but the sweetness of Imaan would be felt in heart and the Help of Allah Taala would also arrive in time.

Look what Allah Taala says:

Meaning: Do you think that you will enter Paradise despite that there have not yet come upon you circumstances as of those who have passed away before you? They were afflicted by hardship and suffering and were so shaken down that the prophet, and those who believed with him, began to say: ‘When the help of Allah (will come)’? Behold, the help of Allah is near. (Sura Baqarah: 214)
