Ramadan and Supplication (Dua)
Right after mentioning the Blessed Month of Ramadan, Allah Almighty is reminding His servants in the subsequent verse: (O Messenger, tell my servants that) I am near! I accept the prayer of the supplicant (of my servants). [See Surah Baqarah 185-186].
We should value and appreciate the call of the Supreme Deity! Supplication (Dua) is an action for the entire life throughout the year. If one increases supplication in Ramadan, the benefits multiplies. Because Ramadan is a special season of worship. Supplication (according to Hadith) is the essence of Worship. And it is worship that creates a strong bond between Allah and His servant!
Supplication (Dua) should be done attentively and humbly in the court of Allah Almighty. At the beginning of Supplication (Dua), utter the Praise of Allah (for instance, say: Alhamdulillah) several times. Send salaam and salutations (Dorud) to the beloved Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. Then start doing dua. Pray to Allah sincerely. Do not rush, supplicate calmly. At the end of supplication, recite salaam and salutation to beloved Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam again. Finish supplication (dua) by saying Aameen. Every supplicant should have firm faith that Allah Almighty has accepted my supplications (Dua). His decision and favor for me is the best.
Hold good notion towards Allah Almighty. The better notion we hold, the more we will be blessed!
One of the benefits of increasing supplication during Ramadan is that it becomes a habit to supplicate more, which is a blessed habit in a person’s life!
Remember, it is from little efforts, big results are gained!
ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٤
It is the Fadhl (special gift, great favor) from Allah, He bestows upon whoever He wills. Allah is the greatest benefactor!
